founding staff

The CLF was founded by Maria D’Angelo, and her children, Francesca and Sean, have followed her example, and are founding staff members….We are a family that works to help other families, and have had the experience and challenges to comprise over 70 years of experience between us…

We have extremely low overhead expenses, and employ the use of an incredible volunteer network, hiring an amazing seasonal staff…

maria d’Angelo-Founder & President

In the summer of 1993, Maria D’Angelo founded The Children’s Lifesaving Foundation (CLF). Maria’s desire to work with young people stems from her initial experiences as a volunteer at a homeless shelter in Central Los Angeles, as well as her own experiences as an immigrant child in America, and her years teaching in New York.
